Welcome to my blog. I am a Web designer from the Northwestern UK (near Manchester). Aside from the usual rants and observations, I also plan to share any of the cool or useful CSS/JS and maybe a bit of Flash snippets I discover in the problem solving that is associated in my Day to Day job.

First post

Well now I have managed to hack the template in to something like I wanted, but the 'Archives' Link on the right is somehow using one of the previous unfinished versions of the template? and for some reason this post has stuck to Sunday Oct 1st, despite me copy/pasting it in to a newer post?
One of the other things I am involved in is the protection of the Land the used to be occupied by the Old Parkside Colliery from development in to on of the largest Road/Rail transfer depots in the country (and the largest in the north of England). I helped with the development of the action groups website (Parkside Action Group) but as this was mainly created using an off the shelf PHP CMS system, the design side was limited to choosing an appropriate theme template and making a few graphical amendments (I replaced header graphic).
I did however do an 'interactive map' to show the area that the proposal will take up, and compare it's size to various local landmarks. This utilises a Google map with lots of 'Custom Overlays' using the code from Googles API site and utilising a Tab Content Script I found on Dynamic Drive for the UI.
This On the subject of Parkside, I have a Flickr gallery Flash slide show of how the area of the proposed development looks at the moment (I say 'at the moment' most of the photos where taken during early summer 06).
